Filipino Food Memories ♥
I chose this topic because it is very special to my heart and it contributed to what kind of person I am today. I want to show that my culture's reflection and my individuality is affected by the dishes made from home. ♥

Home ♥
Although my family still continue to make Filipino dishes, there is nothing like making these certain dishes back in the motherland. There, the ingredients are more original and fresh. However, making them here brings back memories of home. Philippines is where most of family are. Back there, we celebrate the most simple things through preparing food. It is more like a family bonding than celebrating the event. That's what makes it feel like home. There is really nothing like home.
Memories ♥
I remember back home where my grandmother would make stew called "Bulalo" (Beef Shank Soup) which is made up of corn cobs, peppercons, bokchoy, potatoes, and boiled beef. I still remember the scent which was the lovely feeling of being home on a rainy summer day. It brings back warm, sentimental memories where the warmth of belonging comes back all at once. The taste of the soup reminds of those warm kisses from my grandmom. The distinct taste of the stew brings smile on my face when I think about those days. Even though it has been a long time since I have had Bulalo and it has been long time since I have been to my country, I still remember it so well like it was just yesterday.
Close to my heart ♥
Filipino food is very close to my heart. It is more than just a dish. It is my culture as well. It is the customs of a Filipino individual that reflects their soul and feelings. It is something that I will always belong to.
